620K Cable Tracer

The 620K cable tracer is a compact, hand-held meter used for tracking and troubleshooting cables quickly. It combines both an audible cable tracer and continuity tester in one unit.

When switched to ‘TONE’, the 620K cable tracer will locate and follow cables hidden behind plaster or under floorboards up to 1 metre away. This tone varies in volume depending on how far away the cable is. The closer the probe gets to the cable, the louder the tone becomes.
Depending on method of connection, the probe can be used to trace individual cables or pairs.
The probe also enables EMI/RFI interference to be identified if another cable is fitted next to yours.

The 620K cable tracer also includes an audible continuity with ‘latch feature’. This enables intermittent shorts or breaks to be found more easily.
