431 DSL Broadband Alarm Filter
Designed to meet BS EN 50131 requirements, the DSL Broadband Filter enables analogue alarm signals to operate securely on broadband / DSL lines. The filter provides terminal connections to be wired directly to the master phone socket and alarm equipment and is suitable for Redcare, digital communicators and speech dialers.
Installers should inform clients considering upgrading to broadband that communication may be lost and insurance cover compromised if a line seizing the DSL filter is not fitted to the alarm system. To comply with BS EN 50131 enabling line seizure, the filter should be installed within the alarm control equipment and wired to the master socket as follows:

1. AB Line In - Connect terminals to the master socket incoming BT line
2. AB to Equip - Connect terminals to the control panel/digi AB line
3. A1 B1 from Equip - Connect terminals to A1 and B1 on the digi
4. AB Line Out - Connect terminals to the master socket phone/fax line
IMPORTANT: If it is not possible to connect to the master socket or if A1, B1 terminals are not provided by the control panel/digi, analogue line seizure will not be provided. Under these circumstances connect the DSL filter to the BT line as described below.

a) AB Line In. Connect these terminals to the BT telephone line.
b) AB to Equip. Connect these terminals to the control panel/digi AB line.
c) Ignore all other terminals on the DSL filter.
